How "The Boardwalk" Came to Be...

Iggy's Boardwalk: Lobster and Clam Bar is the full-service restaurant and bar version of the iconic Iggy's Doughboys & Chowder House in Rhode Island. After years of loyal Rhode Islanders asking owner and CEO, David Gravino to create "something just like Iggy's but with waiters and a bar" in 2015 that wish finally came true. On June 15, 2015 after almost two years of renovations and updates, David finally opened the Gazebo Bar and Patio Dining with a limited $5 appetizer menu and drinks. This was meant as a preview of what was to come but it took off right away. It wasn't until countless training sessions and test menus came and went, that he was finally ready to open the full restaurant in November 2015. A fascinating fact: Gravino prides himself on being a hands-on owner and has never had a General Manager "running-the-show".  His unique management and training approach parallels that of a coach to a great team. He truly believes in the importance of leading by example, which is why a majority of his employees have been with the company from the beginning.   As for the menu, many recipes come from the family's original quick service restaurant Iggy's Doughboys & Chowder House which opened in 1989. The more innovative dishes can be attributed to David himself as well as Executive Chef John Bordieri who joined the Boardwalk team in 2017. The Boardwalk restaurant features a full bar, lobster and raw bar items, sandwiches, seasonal salads and Italian style entrees for something more heartier. It truly is the perfect atmosphere for families and friends to gather and enjoy delicious meals together, all year long.

    DIRECTIONS

    FROM 95 NORTH
    Exit 29 towards US-1 / Post Road. Left onto Airport Rd. Right onto Warwick Avenue. Merge right to continue on Warwick Avenue until it changes to Oakland Beach Avenue. Continue straight until Iggy's parking lots are on your right. The Boardwalk is the first restaurant on the right-hand side. 


    FROM 95 SOUTH 

    Take exit 27 toward RI-117. Turn right onto Centerville Rd toward Apponaug. Continue straight through roundabouts until you reach West Shore Rd. Take right on Oakland Beach Ave.
